The Atrium is a dominant feature that also serves a significant purpose. The full height 3 story atrium creates a passive ventilation 'stack' which helps draw fresh air through the building.

The building has an exposed thermal mass. This acts as a 'heat store' to soak up the heat of the day in the summer and retain internal heat in the winter. Automated night time cooling in the summer reduces the core temperature thus allowing the process to be repeated daily...
